This was the final assignment from my first semester of 3D art class at FIEA. We were tasked, over the course of several weeks, to create a small, self-contained scene in Unreal Engine 5 to be used in a small VR experience. This scene needed to contain the following custom-made elements:
- A large, central element (here taking the form of a Viking-style runestone)
- A small interactable object that can be picked up in VR (the glowing gem near the runestone)
- Five or more rocks of varying sizes
- Varied foliage elements, which needed to take the form of two-sided foliage cards
- A ground layer for the other elements to sit on, featuring multiple textures applied via vertex painting
- A custom skybox with at least one layer of moving clouds
- Various textured mountain models for the background
- A sun or moon model for the sky, matched with the lighting of the area
